Remember the good ol’ days when you would go with your friends to Blockbuster to pick up a (physical) movie for Friday night. When you get home, your mum had the popcorn already popping in the microwave— all you had to do was put the video in the VCR. Those were the simple days before streaming services invaded our flat screens.

For the month of April, you can relive those VHS classics, at Welcome To Thornbury, during their three-month cinema pop-up, aptly named, Blockbuster’d. Lounge on plush beanbags and enjoy a night of nostalgia on the 4m x 2m screen.

What movies will be showing at the Welcome To Thornbury pop-up cinema?

There is a great line up of cult classics, including but not limited to Clueless, Scream, Dirty Dancing, She’s All That, Uncle Back, and more to be announced soon.

How much do tickets cost?

Each screening includes a burger and drink for $25. You can also order drinks to your seat throughout the movie.

Mad Mex’s New Menu Item Is Inspired by a Popular Mexican Street Food

mad mex chicken al pastor

Mexican restaurant chain Mad Mex has dropped a new protein, and it’s one of the most popular street foods in Mexico.

Enter, Chicken Al Pastor. It’s traditionally made with pork and grilled on a spinning rotisserie with a pineapple sitting a top, but Mad Mex has put its own spin on it, serving chicken bathed in an Al Pastor marinade with a touch of juicy pineapple.

You can order the protein-packed filling in your favourite burrito, bowl, quesadilla, nachos, or in a taco.

As always, these things are here for a good time, not a long time. Pop into your local Mad Mex restaurant, order delivery or through the Mad Mex app today.
