There are plenty of ways to make cheap travel happen. You can travel in a group to split hotel costs, optimize when you purchase your flight tickets to lower ticket prices and follow every travel budget hack there is. One of the things that can be a little harder to hack is which airport you fly out of. Depending on where you live, you may only be able to fly out of just one airport, or your destination limits the number of options you have.

CivMetrics, a nonprofit journalism organization, collected the average flight costs for the nation’s 100 busiest airports, based on Q3 2022 data from the Bureau of Transportation Services. The 10 most expensive airports are listed below, and you can find a data graph including the average price at each airport.

1. Ted Stevens Anchorage International, Anchorage, Alaska
2. Dane County Regional-Truax Field, Madison, Wisconsin
3. Washington Dulles International, Washington-Dulles DC
4. Greenville-Spartanburg International, Greer South Carolina
5. Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Birmingham, Alabama
6. Piedmont Triad International, Greensboro/High Point, North Carolina

This information might not guarantee that you will always be able to buy cheap flight tickets, but in the world of trip planning, knowing which airports cost more or less to fly out of is always helpful to have in one’s travel arsenal. For instance, Newark Airport ranks just above JFK in terms of average ticket cost. You can explore the complete study at CivMetrics.com.

Mad Mex’s New Menu Item Is Inspired by a Popular Mexican Street Food

mad mex chicken al pastor

Mexican restaurant chain Mad Mex has dropped a new protein, and it’s one of the most popular street foods in Mexico.

Enter, Chicken Al Pastor. It’s traditionally made with pork and grilled on a spinning rotisserie with a pineapple sitting a top, but Mad Mex has put its own spin on it, serving chicken bathed in an Al Pastor marinade with a touch of juicy pineapple.

You can order the protein-packed filling in your favourite burrito, bowl, quesadilla, nachos, or in a taco.

As always, these things are here for a good time, not a long time. Pop into your local Mad Mex restaurant, order delivery or through the Mad Mex app today.
