Make This Choc Musk Martini With Life Savers New Chocolate Block

Walk down memory lane with this nostalgia-inducing drink.

Life Savers have evolved over the years, from offering the iconic, cylinder-packed lollies that lived in the middle console of the car to making chocolate blocks and filling them with their iconic lollies. The latest block drop is no different.

Introducing the Life Savers Musk and Raspberry Jelly Milk Chocolate Block.

A staple at corner shops and milk bars, musk lollies have stood the test of time. The uniquely Australian treat made its debut in 1932 and has since played a massive role in shaping childhoods from playground treats at the tuckshop to the cakes our parents made, and the lolly bags we received at birthday parties.

Filled with musk flavour, and chewy raspberry jelly pieces, the Life Savers Musk and Raspberry Jelly Milk Chocolate Block is then blanketed in smooth and creamy Darrell Lea milk chocolate.

The block is delicious on its own, but for those who are keen to take your sweet craving to the next level, you can now mix your own Choc Musk Martinis.

Life Savers Choc Musk Martini

Ingredients:
– 30ml vodka
– 30ml Baileys
– 30ml coffee liqueur
– 6 small pieces of Life Savers Musk and Raspberry Jelly Milk Chocolate, melted
– 1 packet of Life Savers musk rings

Method:
1. Crush a packet of Life Savers musk rings. Pour onto a flat plate.
2. Melt six small pieces of the chocolate in a microwave (slowly, making sure not to seize)
3. Dip the glass rim of your coupette glass into the melted chocolate before dipping it into your crushed musk. Pop it in the fridge.
4. In a cocktail shaker, add in your alcohol before spooning in 30ml of the musk chocolate. Fill with ice and hard shake for 15 seconds before double straining into your glass.

Life Savers Musk and Raspberry Jelly Milk Chocolate Block is available to purchase from Coles and Woolworths for $5.

Mad Mex’s New Menu Item Is Inspired by a Popular Mexican Street Food

mad mex chicken al pastor

Mexican restaurant chain Mad Mex has dropped a new protein, and it’s one of the most popular street foods in Mexico.

Enter, Chicken Al Pastor. It’s traditionally made with pork and grilled on a spinning rotisserie with a pineapple sitting a top, but Mad Mex has put its own spin on it, serving chicken bathed in an Al Pastor marinade with a touch of juicy pineapple.

You can order the protein-packed filling in your favourite burrito, bowl, quesadilla, nachos, or in a taco.

As always, these things are here for a good time, not a long time. Pop into your local Mad Mex restaurant, order delivery or through the Mad Mex app today.
