Krispy Kreme Are Giving Us State Of Origin-Themed Doughnuts Just In Time For Game Day

Blue or red?

It’s that time of year. State Of Origin starts tonight, and Krispy Kreme have given us extra reason to celebrate.

In honour of the famous cross-border rivalry, Krispy Kreme is releasing two new limited-edition doughnuts for QLD and NSW fans.

From today, footy die-hards can pre-order a delicious new doughnut flavour dedicated to their favourite hometown team, with two to choose from.

The NSW doughnut is a classic Original Glazed dipped in blue icing and finished with a divine white icing drizzle. And for those on the opposition, the QLD doughnut is a classic Original Glazed dipped in maroon icing, finished with a drool-worthy caramel truffle drizzle.

So, no matter what the result, they get the win they deserve: doughnuts.

Surely we don’t need to convince you to share a dozen sticky, themed treats with mates during half time, or better yet—send one to a mate that barracks for the opposition.

“We know that Krispy Kreme holds a special place amongst footy fans’ hearts, and we’re excited to give them the perfect half-time snack to kick off Australia’s most anticipated footy series of 2021” said Olivia Sutherland, Marketing Director at Krispy Kreme Australia.

Fans shouldn’t need a decider for this one—the limited-edition game day doughnuts will be available for $3.75 each for next day click and collect or available instore on game days 9 June, 27 June and 14 July 2021. Only available in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland where game days will take stage.

Mad Mex’s New Menu Item Is Inspired by a Popular Mexican Street Food

mad mex chicken al pastor

Mexican restaurant chain Mad Mex has dropped a new protein, and it’s one of the most popular street foods in Mexico.

Enter, Chicken Al Pastor. It’s traditionally made with pork and grilled on a spinning rotisserie with a pineapple sitting a top, but Mad Mex has put its own spin on it, serving chicken bathed in an Al Pastor marinade with a touch of juicy pineapple.

You can order the protein-packed filling in your favourite burrito, bowl, quesadilla, nachos, or in a taco.

As always, these things are here for a good time, not a long time. Pop into your local Mad Mex restaurant, order delivery or through the Mad Mex app today.
