Did you know Australia’s oldest chocolate bar is the Cherry Ripe? It officially launched in 1924 and has since sparked a heated debate across the nation about whether or not it is the superior Aussie choccy bar. If you ask me, it’s superior in every way, but it also happens to be my favourite chocolate bar, so I’m biased.
I will leave it up to you to decide if the Cherry Ripe deserves the crown. Even if you decide it doesn’t, you won’t be able to say no to Krispy Kreme’s new first-ever Cherry Ripe doughnuts.
Krispy Kreme fans will find two new doughnuts in store, including a Cherry Ripe filled, and Cherry Ripe dipped doughnuts. The filled doughnut is a shaped delight dipped in rich Cadbury Old Gold dark chocolate and filled with moreish Cherry Ripe-inspired kreme.
The dipped doughnut is a reinvigorated version of Krispy Kreme’s iconic Original Glazed Doughnut, dipped in dark chocolate and dunked in a mix of cherry-coconut pieces, topped with shredded coconut and choc ganache.
Both flavours are now available online and in-store at Krispy Kreme and in 7-Eleven stores for a limited time only.
At 7-Eleven stores, you can also enjoy a Krispy Kreme Cadbury® Cherry Ripe® Doughnut with a 7-Eleven regular coffee for only $5 from May 2-29, 2023.
Mexican restaurant chain Mad Mex has dropped a new protein, and it’s one of the most popular street foods in Mexico.
Enter, Chicken Al Pastor. It’s traditionally made with pork and grilled on a spinning rotisserie with a pineapple sitting a top, but Mad Mex has put its own spin on it, serving chicken bathed in an Al Pastor marinade with a touch of juicy pineapple.
You can order the protein-packed filling in your favourite burrito, bowl, quesadilla, nachos, or in a taco.
As always, these things are here for a good time, not a long time. Pop into your local Mad Mex restaurant, order delivery or through the Mad Mex app today.
