Just when the weather begins to turn, Koko Black has yet again come to our aid with chocolatey goodness, this time in beer form. Koko Black has teamed up with award-winning homegrown brewer Modus Operandi to its first-ever beer, dubbed Koko Black x MODUS Choc Hazelnut Belgian Stout

Using Koko Black’s ‘Nuts to Caramel Collection’ as inspiration, the brewers created the limited edition luxury beer, with additions of hazelnut and heavenly Belgian couverture chocolate.

For those in Melbourne looking to get an early taste of the new brew, the partnership will mark the official launch of the 2021 Melbourne Good Beer Week, taking place now until 23 May. Koko Black x MODUS Choc Hazelnut Belgian Stout will be available for tasting at the MODUS Good Beer Week Hub and the Good Heavens Rooftop, along with being sold across independent Victorian bottle shops too as a four-pack for $35.00, following Good Beer Week on 23 May.

Enthusiastic cicerones attending the Great Australian Beer Spectacular (GABS) in Melbourne from 21 to 23 May can also enjoy the unique opportunity to attend a chocolate and beer pairing Masterclass with Koko Black’s Head Chocolatier and Product Innovator, Remco Brigou and Kirrily Waldhorn, also known as the Beer Diva.

Koko Black will also be offering a limited edition luxurious gift box for $99.00, available Australia wide via kokoblack.com featuring Koko Black’s Nuts to Caramel Collection (18pc), Roasted Toasted Hazelnuts (200g), Hazelnut Gianduja Bombs (150g) and four 375ml Koko Black x MODUS Choc Hazelnut Belgian Stouts.

Mad Mex’s New Menu Item Is Inspired by a Popular Mexican Street Food

mad mex chicken al pastor

Mexican restaurant chain Mad Mex has dropped a new protein, and it’s one of the most popular street foods in Mexico.

Enter, Chicken Al Pastor. It’s traditionally made with pork and grilled on a spinning rotisserie with a pineapple sitting a top, but Mad Mex has put its own spin on it, serving chicken bathed in an Al Pastor marinade with a touch of juicy pineapple.

You can order the protein-packed filling in your favourite burrito, bowl, quesadilla, nachos, or in a taco.

As always, these things are here for a good time, not a long time. Pop into your local Mad Mex restaurant, order delivery or through the Mad Mex app today.
