It’s been a long time coming, KFC told us something big was coming, but we weren’t sure what—until now. The KFC fairies delivered the new menu item to our desks, and much to our surprise it’s the cult-favourite tower burger.
Last available in Australia back in 2018, the tower burger is KFC’s most requested menu item and has since kept fans on the edge of their seats waiting for its highly anticipated comeback. Due to the Colonel receiving an overwhelming number of pleas and social pages being flooded with desperate comments, his arm has been well and truly twisted, and the Tower Burger will be back for a limited time only.
“For the first time in nearly three years, we’re excited to bring back an all-time fan favourite—the Tower Burger. Fans across the country have been vocal in calling for its return, so we know they’ll be eager to get their hands on it while they can – but get in quick as you never know when it’ll be back again,” commented Kristi Woolrych, CMO at KFC Australia.
So, what makes this burger so wanted? Like the name suggests, this legendary burger is packed with towering layers and boasts a fan favourite Original Recipe fillet coated in the Colonel’s secret 11 herbs and spices. This bad boy also comes with a classic cheese slice, tangy tomato sauce, mayo, fresh lettuce and a crispy hash brown stacked on top of each other. For those who love a good kick, swap out the original recipe fillet for a zinger fillet.
Available from Tuesday 23 February to Monday 22 March, the Tower Burger can be purchased from participating KFC restaurants nationwide – but don’t leave it too late because it’s here for a good time, not a long time.
For those who love to double up, the word in the kitchen is KFC is cooking up an extra tasty treat. They’re keeping the lid sealed tight on this secret, but we’ll be sure to update you as soon as we know.
Mexican restaurant chain Mad Mex has dropped a new protein, and it’s one of the most popular street foods in Mexico.
Enter, Chicken Al Pastor. It’s traditionally made with pork and grilled on a spinning rotisserie with a pineapple sitting a top, but Mad Mex has put its own spin on it, serving chicken bathed in an Al Pastor marinade with a touch of juicy pineapple.
You can order the protein-packed filling in your favourite burrito, bowl, quesadilla, nachos, or in a taco.
As always, these things are here for a good time, not a long time. Pop into your local Mad Mex restaurant, order delivery or through the Mad Mex app today.
