It’s the unofficial-official birthday of Moon Dog’s most popular beer—Old Mate Pale Ale—and to celebrate, Moon Dog Brewing is giving away 200 six packs this Saturday.

To score a six pack, head down to Moon Dog OG (Moon Dog’s original venue in Abbotsford) this Saturday, May 8 with your mate, show ID and say “maaaaate!” on arrival. It’s that easy.

Although, stock is limited, so only the first 100-pairs of mates will get a free six pack.

If you miss out, you can head online and purchase a case of Old Mate during the month of May to go in the running to win a year’s supply of the beer.

On Saturday, May 8, Moon Dog World will also be turning Old Mate orange for the night offering Old Mate jugs for $15 during happy hour (3-5 pm) and local DJ’s will be spinning tunes from 5 pm.

First released in 2016 as part of the original Moon Dog core offering, Old Mate had several looks and changes over the years but the most recent one is the most bold and exciting change yet. With a brand spanking new logo and a completely revamped recipe Old Mate pale ale is more refreshing, and even more hoppy. The good news accompanying these changes is a decrease in price (about $55-$58 per case) which makes the new Old Mate even more slab worthy.

Mad Mex’s New Menu Item Is Inspired by a Popular Mexican Street Food

mad mex chicken al pastor

Mexican restaurant chain Mad Mex has dropped a new protein, and it’s one of the most popular street foods in Mexico.

Enter, Chicken Al Pastor. It’s traditionally made with pork and grilled on a spinning rotisserie with a pineapple sitting a top, but Mad Mex has put its own spin on it, serving chicken bathed in an Al Pastor marinade with a touch of juicy pineapple.

You can order the protein-packed filling in your favourite burrito, bowl, quesadilla, nachos, or in a taco.

As always, these things are here for a good time, not a long time. Pop into your local Mad Mex restaurant, order delivery or through the Mad Mex app today.
