This Melbourne Pub is Giving Out Free Beer to Fully-Vaccinated Punters

You've got until Friday.

In a celebration of the lockdown ending in Victoria, The Prince Alfred in Port Melbourne are once again, offering free beers to anyone that has proof of a jab before this Friday.

If you’re vaccinated against COVID-19 in the US, you’re able to get free drinks, a free Tinder profile boost, paid leave, free donuts and free tickets to sporting events. Given that our vaccine rollout in Australia is a lot behind, we’re catching up with our incentives too.

The Prince Alfred kicked things, offering free beer to anyone that’s fully-vaccinated with either AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccines just before lockdown and now they’re doing it again.

Just a little something to get you through the jitters of getting vaccinated with a newsphere of swirling opinions on side effects and concerns.

Personally, I’d never been afraid to get a vaccine until this pandemic era, where the news is completely saturated with differing opinions and ‘what if’ scenarios. I am now fully-vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine, I didn’t have any horrible side effects and I feel relieved that it’s over.

And after such a stressful year and a half, I think a free beer is just what I need!

All you’ll need is proof of vaccination. That little blue card you get given at the vaccination hubs is the perfect proof, or if you have a confirmation email, that works too.

Vaccination clinics are open from 9am–5pm in Victoria this week, while the Prince Alfred is operating from 4–8pm until Thursday, and from 12–8pm over the weekend.

Hit up the clinic, jump on aboard the train to safety and on your way home, stop off at The Price Alfred for a free beer. You can also redeem a wine or spirit, if beer’s not ya thing.

The Prince Alfred Port Melbourne is located at 355 Bay Street, Port Melbourne.

Mad Mex’s New Menu Item Is Inspired by a Popular Mexican Street Food

mad mex chicken al pastor

Mexican restaurant chain Mad Mex has dropped a new protein, and it’s one of the most popular street foods in Mexico.

Enter, Chicken Al Pastor. It’s traditionally made with pork and grilled on a spinning rotisserie with a pineapple sitting a top, but Mad Mex has put its own spin on it, serving chicken bathed in an Al Pastor marinade with a touch of juicy pineapple.

You can order the protein-packed filling in your favourite burrito, bowl, quesadilla, nachos, or in a taco.

As always, these things are here for a good time, not a long time. Pop into your local Mad Mex restaurant, order delivery or through the Mad Mex app today.
