If you’ve ever wanted to try curling, then here’s your chance. The retro Winter Olympic sport is coming to a city near you, packed in a winter wonderland themed bar. The team behind Bumper Cars On Ice and Explore Hidden, are bringing the curling bars to Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne from Wednesday, 30 June.

If you’re unsure of the rules, here’s a quick refresher course. There will be a number of curling rinks and two teams can play on each lane with a maximum of eight people per lane. The aim of the game is to slide ‘stones’ towards targets and score the highest points for the stones resting closest to the centre. You will also need to nominate two team members as ‘sweepers’ to help influence where the stones go.

After conquering the lanes, settle down with a boozy hot chocolate or mulled wine and watch the rest of the teams battle it out. Expect winter-themed cocktails, neon lights, and a live DJ spinning tunes all night long.

Tickets will be sold on a per lane basis with each lane accommodating up to 10 people. Tickets start from $99 for off-peak times and $119 for peak times.

Mad Mex’s New Menu Item Is Inspired by a Popular Mexican Street Food

mad mex chicken al pastor

Mexican restaurant chain Mad Mex has dropped a new protein, and it’s one of the most popular street foods in Mexico.

Enter, Chicken Al Pastor. It’s traditionally made with pork and grilled on a spinning rotisserie with a pineapple sitting a top, but Mad Mex has put its own spin on it, serving chicken bathed in an Al Pastor marinade with a touch of juicy pineapple.

You can order the protein-packed filling in your favourite burrito, bowl, quesadilla, nachos, or in a taco.

As always, these things are here for a good time, not a long time. Pop into your local Mad Mex restaurant, order delivery or through the Mad Mex app today.
