Grab Your Friends, Aldi is Opening a Super Cheap Wine Bar in Sydney

Expect to pay no more than $4.41 for a good night out.

Forget about paying $17 for a glass of wine, Aldi is opening a luxe wine bar and it’s the cheapest night out we’ve had in a long time.

Opening in the Sydney CBD, you can expect to enjoy a gin cocktail, plenty of wine, and cheese, and it won’t cost you more than $4.41. That’s only $0.83 for a class of Pinot Grigio and $2.49 for a Pinot Noir from Otaga, New Zealand—the most expensive glass on the menu.

There is a catch. The wine bar, dubbed the Trophy Room, will only be open for two days, from Friday, July 15 to July 16. Although, here’s to hoping they make it permanent someday.

Get your tickets here.

The Trophy Room opens as the cost of living and inflation inflationary pressures continue to concern Australians. ALDI’s recent Price Report 2022 revealed that consumers are not only worried about the affordability of groceries (51%), but also food/takeaways (24%) and alcohol (11%).

Many Australians said they have already cut back spending in these categories – with almost half (44%) reducing their spend on restaurants and takeaways and almost a quarter (22%) on alcohol in the past year.

At least with the Trophy Room, you can still indulge in quality wine and cheese with friends and family, without the hefty price tag.

Mad Mex’s New Menu Item Is Inspired by a Popular Mexican Street Food

mad mex chicken al pastor

Mexican restaurant chain Mad Mex has dropped a new protein, and it’s one of the most popular street foods in Mexico.

Enter, Chicken Al Pastor. It’s traditionally made with pork and grilled on a spinning rotisserie with a pineapple sitting a top, but Mad Mex has put its own spin on it, serving chicken bathed in an Al Pastor marinade with a touch of juicy pineapple.

You can order the protein-packed filling in your favourite burrito, bowl, quesadilla, nachos, or in a taco.

As always, these things are here for a good time, not a long time. Pop into your local Mad Mex restaurant, order delivery or through the Mad Mex app today.
