These 24 Hour Bars Never Close

On your average night, staying at the bar until last call gives you plenty of time to enjoy yourself. But even if you’re not done partying, it doesn’t matter because closing time is still closing time. Unless, of course, the bar never closes.

In a few states and cities across the United States, there’s no legally required time for bars to stop serving alcohol. These are the spots where you can get a beer or cocktail at 5 a.m. because that’s your prerogative. Many of the big gambling cities like Las Vegas, Biloxi and Atlantic City have all-night casino bars, but there are also spots separate from the constant dings of slot machines. From Nevada to Mississippi to New Jersey, these bars are open 24/7.

Frankie’s Tiki Room in Las Vegas, Nevada

There’s never a wrong time for tiki, and Frankie’s takes that ethos to the next level. With wooden totems, hanging palm fronds and a drink menu loaded with rum tiki drinks, Frankie’s is a 24/7 island oasis in a sea of flashing Vegas lights. Search for the neon pink sign off The Strip, and you’ll find a classic tiki lounge with a dedication to well-curated kitsch.

Peppermill Fireside Lounge in Las Vegas, Nevada

Sure, you can stroll into any of the Las Vegas casinos and grab yourself a drink whenever, but you deserve more. Plus, we’re not all lucky enough to keep our money after spending an all-nighter sipping drinks on the casino floor. That’s where Peppermill Fireside Lounge comes in. Located near the end of The Strip, Peppermill has made a name for itself as an all-night date spot with specialty cocktails and food 24/7.

Artisan Boutique Ultra Lounge in Las Vegas, Nevada

If pre-Prohibition cocktails are more your vibe, head to Artisan Boutique Ultra Lounge. The bar has reproductions of famous paintings on the ceiling and walls, and boasts dark speakeasy-style decor with a distinct “what happens in Vegas” twist. Jazz musicians play in the corner and cocktails are served, no matter the hour.

E11even Miami in Miami, Florida

E11even is like if everything in a Pitbull song was combined under one roof and allowed to operate without a closing time. Located downtown, E11even is 20,000 square feet of performance art, dancing, music, food and bottle service. While it’s all that and then some, the four 24-hour, full-service bars are what got it on this list.

Just Us Lounge in Biloxi, Mississippi

Mississippi doesn’t get much credit for being a late night hotspot, but in the Deep South city of Biloxi, the party never ends. For 21 years, Just Us Lounge has been an all-hours, LGBTQ-friendly bar where the drinks always flow. It’s a nice respite from the casinos and their 24-hour watering holes like Breeze Bar and Bar 46.

The Abbey in New Orleans, Louisiana

Few tourists can arrive in New Orleans and survive a 24-hour outing. For those who can, and for the locals who have incredible perseverance, there’s The Abbey. With metal music on the jukebox and $5 Boilermakers, The Abbey isn’t for everyone. But it’s one place where you’re guaranteed to leave with a story.

The Club Ms. Mae’s in New Orleans, Louisiana

Ms. Mae’s is more than just one of the cheapest 24-hour bars in the Big Easy-it’s one of the cheapest bars in the city, period. Plus it has pool, air hockey and foosball to keep you entertained at 5:13 a.m. For the extremely ambitions, there’s Ms. Mae’s 24 challenge: one drink per hour for every hour of the day.

The Avenue Pub in New Orleans, Louisiana

Escape the chaotic 24-hour NOLA drinking scene by stopping in The Avenue Pub. With a focus on craft beer, The Avenue Pub is probably the best bar in the country to sip suds between the hours of 2 a.m. and 11 a.m. It’s open 24/7, 365 days a year with more than 40 taps and plenty of bottles from which to choose.

Ducktown Tavern and Liquor in Atlantic City, New Jersey

While the roulette wheels in the Atlantic City casinos spin through the night, Ducktown serves up food and cocktails. Located a short distance from the Boardwalk, Ducktown has three happy hours depending on your sleeping (or not sleeping) hours: one from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Pic-a-Lilli Pub in Atlantic City, New Jersey

Atlantic City may not be the city that never sleeps or Sin City, but that doesn’t mean you can’t grab food and a drink at any hour you desire. At Pic-a-Lilli Pub, searing hot wings and other bar food are served alongside cheap cocktails and beer 24/7.
